Add a new field to a sign-in type
SUMMARY
How to add custom questions or entry fields to your visitor sign-in flow.
STEPS
1. Go to Sign-in Types in the left navigation sidebar.
2. Select the sign-in type you wish to customise (e.g., Visitor).
3. Locate the Sign-In Fields card and click the Sign-In Fields button.
4. In the "Configure Sign-In Fields" window, click on Add Field to expand the options.
5. Configure your new field:
* Label: Enter the question or field name (e.g., "Car Registration").
* Type: Select the input type (Text, Number, Date, Address, Checkbox, Dropdown, Email).
* Settings: Toggles for Enabled, Mandatory, and Ask Every (sign-in).
6. Click Add Field (or Save) to confirm.
7. Click Update Changes on the main Sign-in Type page if required.
VALIDATION CHECKLIST
– The new field appears in the Sign-In Fields list.
– The field appears on the iPad/App when signing in as that visitor type.
TROUBLESHOOTING
– Problem: Field not showing on iPad.
– Fix: Ensure the field is creating for the correct Sign-in Type and that "Enabled" is toggled on. The iPad may need a moment to sync.
